Here's the Official Rules and Regulations

Contestant must be a U.S. Citizen; Contestant, Parent, or Legal Guardian must be a resident of Marion County.

Contestant must be a minimum of sixteen years of age by June 1 the year of the pageant and not have reached her twenty-second birthday by January 1 of the next year.

Contestant must never have been married, divorced, or had a marriage annulled; contestant can never have been pregnant or had a child.

Contestant must never have been convicted of a felony offense.

Former County Fair Queens who have competed for the title of Miss Illinois County Fair are not eligible to participate.

Contestant agrees to be personally interviewed by a panel of judges, appear in a one-piece swimsuit and evening gown, answer on-stage questions, and give a one-minute speech for the judges.

If chosen as Miss Marion County Fair, the contestant agrees to serve as hostess for the Marion County Fair and represent the fair at the Miss Illinois County Fair Queen Pageant in Springfield, IL in January.

Miss Marion County Fair agrees to represent the Marion County Fair at the various functions listed in the Queen's Schedule of Events. All personal appearances as Miss Marion County Fair shall be approved in advance by the Pageant Director, as well as any photographic sessions or picture releases. She agrees not toenter any other pageants, except the Miss Illinois County Fair Queen Pageant, during her reign.

If the newly selected Queen cannot fulfill all of the expressed duties or violates any rule set forth for a contestant, she will immediately relinquish her title (including crown, banners, trophy, and all prizes) to be succeeded by the next eligible runner up, if so requested by the Pageant Director and/or the Marion County Fair Association Officers.

Contestants are required to cover any visible tattoos during competition. In addition, only a single pair of earrings can be worn during competition. Facial & body piercings are prohibited during competition.
